This year I got to stop over in Malaysia on my way to Australia for 2 days (a later blog will explain my Oz trip!).
So, I got to travel and explore with two fab girls: Nia and Danielle.
The drivers out there are CRAZY. but it all added to the experience. It was my first time away in a foreign country with no adult supervision: yaaaay.
Things you need to know about Malaysia
- It's ALWAYS stupidly hot, and what makes it worse it there is NO fresh air due to the humidity: NIGHTMARE .... at first anyway.
- A lot of people speak English
- Their highway code must be non-existent
- Everything is really cheap
- Not everywhere is as dodgy as the TV and media present it to be
- Kuala Lumpur is actually pronounced "Kuala Lumpo"
- It's a fun place to explore
- They have more than one royal family who take it in turns to rule the country
We did a half a day tour which was amazing for the first half....
What I learnt
- It's fun exploring new countries
- Most people you come into contact with as a tourist are more than welcoming
- I'm EXTREMELY grateful to everyone who made it possible for the trip to happen
- I loved Malaysia
